Bay Field Currents Forecast Guidance
This near surface currents velocity animation was created with hourly plots from the latest GBOFS forecast guidance in the Galveston Bay. The forecast is for the next 30 hours of current velocities as simulated by the model when the Bay is forced by coastal water levels and winds that are predicted by National Weather Service models. Currents through the deeper navigation channel are stronger than those in the shallower areas.
