High Tide Flooding Exposure

The colored area represents locations exposed to high tide flooding, often called “recurrent” or “nuisance flooding.”

  • Minor flooding event (red areas) - An event which typically presents a low threat of property damage and no direct threat to life
  • Moderate flooding event (orange areas)- An event which typically presents an elevated threat of property damage and some risk to life if one places themself in unnecessary danger
  • Major flooding event (yellow areas) - An event which typically presents a significant threat to life and property

May deviate from National Weather Service data, which take into account local flood risk and are used to issue their coastal flood watches, warnings, and advisories.
