How to reach: To reach the tidal bench marks from the intersection of U.S. Highways 17, 17A, and 701 in Georgetown, proceed east on U.S. Highway 17 for 2.9 km (1.8 mi) to the paved road leading to the old causeway. The bench marks are along U.S. Highway 17 and the old causeway. The tide gage and staff were on a pier NE of the U.S. Highway 17 bridge over Waccamaw River.
