How to reach: To reach the tidal bench marks from the west end of the U.S. Highway 17 bridge over Edisto River near Jacksonboro, proceed west on U.S. Highway 17 for 0.8 km (0.5 mi) to State Road S-15-30 in Jacksonboro, turn south onto State Road S-15-30 and go 1.6 km (1.0 mi) to a dirt road on the left side of the road, turn left (east) onto the dirt road and go 0.5 km (0.3 mi) to Edisto River. The bench marks are along the row of cottages on the river. The tide gage and staff were on the wooden sea wall beside a floating dock.
